Application for media education grants opens later this year
The Arts and Culture Agency will once again provide funding for media education projects this year, but the application round will open in the autumn.
The special grants for media education will, exceptionally, be awarded at the end of 2026. The project funding granted by the Arts and Culture Agency, along with the related guidelines, is expected to be published in autumn 2026. In previous years, the application period has opened in the spring and the results have been published during the summer. The reason for the delayed application round is the publication of updated national media education guidelines. With the introduction of the new guidelines, both the application instructions and evaluation criteria will be updated.
The Ministry of Education and Culture is currently inviting statements on the draft media education guidelines. Statements can be submitted by 26 February 2026 via the Lausuntopalvelu.fi portal (in Finnish and in Swedish).
